Yes Matt, we are completely aware of the utility behind the lower-case ‘a’ in Comic Sans. Did not want to ignore your comment. Lori and I did not make much fuss about Comic Sans, the kid (for the most part) took issue with it on it’s own.

Comic Sans has been proven in clinical studies to be the most readable and egible font for students with learning disabilities. Though your son has a stylistic point, the teacher could easily be attempting to foster an adaptation that reaches the entire classroom.
